Pathaan is an upcoming Indian spy thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles, along with Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana and Salman Khan in supporting roles. The film is scheduled to release on 4 November 2023, coinciding with the Diwali festival.
The film revolves around Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan), an Indian RAW agent who gets to know of a major impending attack against India, mounted by a mercenary group led by the ruthless enigma Jim (John Abraham), who has a history of his own. With the doomsday clock ticking away and an agent Rubai (Deepika Padukone) his only possible ally, Pathaan must fight countless betrayals and deal with destruction as he takes on Jim.
The film is said to be the first installment of the YRF Spy Universe, which will feature crossover appearances of other spy characters from the Yash Raj Films banner, such as Tiger (Salman Khan) from the Tiger franchise and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) from War. The film is also Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film after four years since Zero (2018).
The film's official trailer was released on 2 October 2023, which received positive response from the audience and critics alike.
